Ditch the New Year's Resolutions

A lot of people out there set New Year's resolutions. Myself, I think I may have made resolutions one time in my life. I don't know about you, but my resolutions were just a bunch things on a list that I wanted and if they happened they happened. Well, I can tell you right now I never had a plan to actually accomplish what I wanted, so of course they never materialized. A want without a plan of action is just a wish. That's how I see resolutions. They are just wishes based off of some sort of emotion we may have at the time. No real thought put into it.

Now if there is something you really want, you are going to have a plan and this plan is a process that takes you through accomplishing your goal.

Creating a plan is ESSENTIAL to achieving you goals, and without ACTION your plan will absolutely not play out. A plan needs to have manageable steps. If your plan has these ginormous steps your brain just may tell you that it's too much work and that it's easier to quit. Setting up a plan with small steps will bring you out in the end a changed person.

It’s important that you recognize that now is the time to turn what you want into a PLAN of action and then ACT on that plan.

You need to plan to SUCCEED. Then ask yourself if it’s something you’re working toward or are willing to work toward, or are you just wishing what you want will just ‘poof’ happen.

  1. Be Real, Be Honest and Be Specific. When setting your goals don't just say 'I want to lose weight'. Why do you want to lose weight? How much do you want to lose? How are you going to do it? By When?

  2. Set up your schedule for success. Take your plan and plug it into your calendar. Remember no action is too small. You just need to keep moving forward. Every step will bring closer on your journey to greatness. There is a lot of people out there that talk about what they need to do but they don’t put a plan into action. People like that tend to be stuck.

  3. Define who your support system is made up of. Having family and friends to support your efforts is wonderful, however if you are ready and really serious about changing ‘bad’ habits and patterns that got you stuck in the first place it’s time to consider taking the next step. I offer an incredible 90-day transformation program that is designed to get you to where you want to go. During the program we pinpoint the things that stand in your way and keep you from succeeding. We also uncover what works for you and actually use it. Click here to learn more about the program.

  4. Set up your surroundings for success. Remove anything that may throw you off track. For instance, if you are wanting to eat clean throw out anything that is on your ‘do not eat’ list hiding away in your pantry and refrigerator.

  5. Take Action. Ultimately, no one else but you is responsible for what happens. It is critical to take complete ownership of your own outcomes. Stop playing the game and work through your hurdles. Accountable people know life gets in the way and plan for it. Focus on fix and achieve your results.

You don’t have to travel your path alone. And... if you are wishing for something instead of creating a plan to achieve it, make the time today to set up your free one-on-one breakthrough session with me. Stop doing what you’ve always done and make a change today.

Ask yourself the real question. Are you just wishing or are you setting your goals, creating a plan, and putting it into action?

To Your Health!
